Redwood Rabbitry

Raising Rex with the intention of the improvement of the breed. It was our pleasure to help bring the standard sized Rex back to the Island.

The Rex is a friendly fellow. He is distinguished by a short, dense coat of all one length making for a soft plush fur that is a pleasure to run your hands over. He comes in many accepted colors and is very personable and easily tamed. He seems to enjoy the company of other critters and people making him an asset for a first time rabbit owner.

From a commercial standpoint, the Rex is a versatile breed with commercial body type like other meat breeds, and is prized for its fancy fur which is used for various products.

From a showing standpoint, Rex rabbits make a great 4H project and are certainly a fun breed to show as they are gentle, enjoy human contact, and come in so many fascinating colors.
